Highlights
We’ve now assembled the next VAMquest Auction, and we’re thrilled with the results. We think you will be too! Over the years, there have been untold numbers of fine numismatic auctions, but sales devoted exclusively to the interests of VAM collectors have been few and far between. In fact, the SSDC auctions, which we ran from 1989 to 1995, were the first of their kind, and totaled only twenty-six. Yet, here we are at VAMquest Auction #41! Needless to say, thanks to all who have been supportive of VAMs along the way!
Auction #41
opens 02/01/2012
» Current auction status: Open
» Current auction closes: 02/15/2012 » Auction closing time: 8pm PST » Number of Live Lots: 25 As you know, the coin market in general is not as strong as it was a couple of years ago, and the VAM segment of the market is feeling the pinch, as well. However, we remain convinced that the right coin at the right price will still find an enthusiastic home in the hands of the right VAM collector. And VAMquest Auctions stands as proof of that statement. What can you expect from VAMquest? Our answer is simply this: Expect the best VAMs, at the best prices, backed up by the best experience. We think we’ve made our case over the first forty auctions, and continuing that tradition, here are a few highlights from the current auction:
So, once again welcome to VAMquest.com! We’re offering an incredible array of PCGS varieties in Auction #41, which closes on February 15, 2012. Indeed, we’re convinced that there’s nowhere else you could find these coins in these grades at these prices. But you are the key to the auction process, and as always, we do appreciate your participation! Jeff Oxman PCGS Interviews Jeff Oxman and Ash HarrisonAt the February Long Beach Expo, a film crew for PCGS interviewed Jeff Oxman, founding President of the Society of Silver Dollar Collectors, and Ash Harrison, current President of the SSDC. The idea was to record a quick overview of VAM collecting, and in the process, focus on some of the books and publications that have contributed to its expanding collector-base. Special thanks go to Logan McKechnie, whose VAM table was used as the location for the filming. All this was a precursor to the PCGS Invitational Show in Las Vegas the following month, where Jeff was invited to give a presentation with Mike Faraone, Grader and Variety Attributor for PCGS, spotlighting the Hit List 40 Morgan dollar varieties.![]() |
